It is really much nicer to awake to light than by a sudden sound which shocks your body. Even if you need an alarm at the end, the light will have had an effect and you will feel more awake. FAQ

I have been using this dawn simulator for one month so far. I no longer have morning fatigue nor heart palpitations due to my old alarm clock. I awaken systematically 5 minutes before before the set hour. I have the time to get used to the idea that I have to get up : a real satisfaction. I advise this item to all of you who have very grumpy mornings like me. Even my colleagues noticed the difference !!!

Editor's remark : The Sunrise creates a very agreable dawn which gets lighter slowly and steadily without any sudden change or jumpiness.

How it works :

Light signals your brain even through closed eyelids while you are sleeping. This is the sign for all animals since the dawn of time that the day is approaching. Hormone messengers change your body temperature and adjust your wake time. The first time, you will wonder what woke you up (it's the light).

David Servan-Schreiber dedicated an entire chapter to this subject in his book, The Instinct to Heal. (Rodale, 2003). He suggests that the natural awakening afforded by light permits us to finish a dream, and that being awoken in the middle of a dream has a negative effect on the rest of our entire day!



General features on our dawn simulators :

There is an optional alarm for your first nights or if you just want to feel sure if it's an especially early morning. You may also program a sunset to go to sleep by.



Remarks:
The Sunrise System simulateurs have the best light control, handling perfectly rise in brightness from nothing, through the low light at the beginning of the sunrise, all the way to full brightness (end of sunrise) and never becoming bright too fast in a jumpy way. Otherwise, it's features are similar to the Lumie 200 but with a larger screen and better feedback (you know when a dawn or sunset is in progress by the sun ray symbols). The Sunrise adds a 45 minute option to the Lumie's standard set: (15, 30, 45, 60, 90) minute dawn or sunset. Display in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or Finnish.

Minimalist lamp: Just a globe
The light socket is slid directly into a slot on the globe and hand tightened. Only soft washers touch the glass.

Made of hand blown glass, your lamp may have some inclusions or irregularities. These should not be considered defects but show the natural and unique character of the Orb's glass.
