Secure credit card payment
The risk of someone "pirating" your credit card number during the puchase on a site equipped with PAYBOX SYSTEM is zero. PAYBOX is PCI DSS certified by American Express, Discover, JCB, Visa and Mastercard. This certification requires an extremely high security level. Which PayBox improves upon.
Know that we (LJP) never see and do not have access to your financial data, such as your credit or debit card numbers.
You make your payment directly on the secure payment page of PayBox: tpeweb.paybox.com (TPE = terminal de paiement électronique)
The basics of secure payments over the internet
Your sensitive data is encrypted and thus unreadable before being transmitted over the internet using the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol more commonly called by its earlier name, Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Only the payment provider's computer has the key to decrypt the data. In this manner, your readable credit card number is never circulating on the internet.
How to recognize a secure payment site :
When you choose to pay by credit card, you will be redirected to the payment page. Observe two items: encrypting and identity
- Encrypting: In the address bar of your browser, you will see an s after http
That's s for secure. In addition a lock (or a key on some browsers) always appears in the bottom right corner of the window.
Only the owner of the url, tpe.paybox.com in our example, has the key to decrypt what you type.
But who is the owner?
- The identity of the owner of the url
In the case of PayBox Services (EV SSL) shown here, the identity is directly displayed in the address bar of a modern browser. You also see that they are in France (FR).
FireFox 3 was used for this snapshot. You may also find the owner of the url by clicking on the lock.
Once you enter your non-european address, French Value Added Tax, currently 19.6%, will automatically be removed from your price.
Perhaps you are a seller and have a bit of money in your PayPal account? Great, we accept PayPal. Protect yourself from yourself. If you don't know about phishing scams, please look at this article about phishing at wikipedia.org.
Do not provide confidential information or your login / password to a site reached via a link in an e-mail unless your are 100% sure of the source. The simplest approach is to never click on a link in an email but enter the address yourself in your browser. Fortunately most browsers remember visted sites so you won't have to type the entire address. Your own saved bookmarks are ok too.
