This is the Global Edition (VM-108) by Salient Technology
The classic V-Mouse. It's back, and its better:
- Scrolling simulated via button!
- PS2 in addition to USB
- Vista Ready
With a traditional mouse, the user controls the mouse's movement using elbow and arm muscles, which are not built for small movements or fine motion control. The operation is unnatural, stressful and tiring.
Personal story:
Using a standard mouse on a desktop that was too high with software that required many menu picks gave me thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) and carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) in 1992 during an intense software project of only two weeks duration. I still have CTS and TOS today, fifteen years later. Since 1992 I cannot use a mouse buttons with my right hand without pain nor can I use a hand-held hair dryer for more than a few minutes without taking a break. The good news is that I can use a pen mouse on my jeans, the arm being in a relaxed position. I can also use a touchpad (preferring the left hand) because no force is needed to click. Just a light touch. I feel quite sure that if I had used a pen mouse in the low position, or a touchpad, for this project, I would never had developped TOS nor CTS.
If you have pain during your work on the computer, you must take it seriously. Go see your neurologiste and your physial therapist who will proscribe a series of exercises. (I didn't know at that time why my arm felt so weird and just tried to shake it out.)

Change your arm position--or change your job.
With the V-Mouse, the user uses fingers, wrist, and palm to control its movement. Supported by V-Mouse's 1000 dpi sensitivity this writing-style operation is natural, easy and smooth.
The V-Mouse's linear-footing design works on almost any non-reflective surface. Yous don't have to use it on the desktop. Try your pants! Changing your position frequently avoids fatigue and potential Repetive Stress injuries.
The antenna in the wireless V-Mouse is placed at the top end of the device, above and clear of the user's hand. The electomagnetic wave is therefore does not traverse the hand.
